These were done for the fun of being creative. Our world is full of color and in painting it is mostly generated from the three primary colors: red, blue, and yellow. Black and white go with every color. Gray counts too as a mixture of black and white. They may be intense or subdued, but each in their own way contributes and develops the expression of the painting. My titles may not be very descriptive as I like to leave it up to the viewer to determine what they see and the emotion that the painting may evoke.

The COVID-19 pandemic forced us to socially distance, stay at home, and mostly isolate ourselves. We live in compartments, some with walls more transparent than others.

I’ve added landscapes to my portfolio of work. They are from my imagination, places to escape to or dream about.
My travels have led me to work in colors indigenous to the areas I’ve experienced. Working in an abstract mode with a specific palette for inspiration, I’m capturing my love of a world beyond Northfield, IL.

These paintings were created while under the influence of one painting, Untitled 1951, by Helen Frankenthaler at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bensenville, Arkansas (see the painting here). I’ve taken small sections of this large painting and reconstructed them in my own voice.

Ideas for these paintings are greatly influenced by famous artists. It might be the lines, colors, or shapes that appear in their works that became vibes and subsequently were adapted into my vision.

These all come unframed. I found a lot of collectors like to pick the frame that fits their unique situation. They look great matted in a 20" x 16" frame!

I became obsessed with found objects and upcycling them into works of art. They provide a different sense of joy and make me chuckle. We all need some laughter and fun!
